Lobby Night 2010 Agenda & Directions

The event begins at 3 p.m. at St. Mary's High School, 109 Duke of Gloucester Street in Annapolis


3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. -- Introduction, prayer, and commissioning from bishops

The Maryland-serving bishops will welcome Catholic voters to Annapolis, pray with them, and commission them to be the Church's voice before elected officials at Lobby Night.

3:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. -- Issue briefings
St. Mary's High School, Marian Hall
The members of the Conference's staff will brief participants on legislative issues the Church is concerned with this year. Expected issues are likely to include (though not finalized): BOAST Tax Credit, poverty and budget issues, support for pregnant women, and marriage.

4:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. -- District Organizing
St. Mary's High School, Marian Hall
Lobby Night participants will organize by district, meet other district advocates, assign speakers to each Lobby Night issue, and walk to legislator meetings together.

5:15 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. -- Appointments with legislators
Lowe House and Miller Senate Office Buildings
Meet your state lawmakers in person and share your views with them!

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. -- Legislative Reception
Miller Senate Office Building West
11 Bladen Street, Annapolis
Food and drinks for all Lobby Night participants and members of the General Assembly.

A suggested donation of $5 will be collected to help defray the cost of the reception.

Baltimore Beltway (I-695)
I-695 South (towards Glen Burnie) to I-97 South

50/301 West over Bay Bridge
Exit 24A at Route 70 (Rowe Blvd.)

(1) Continue through two traffic lights, until the "Y" in the road. Take the RIGHT fork.
(2) At the light, continue STRAIGHT onto Northwest St
(3) At the light (top of the hill), turn RIGHT onto Church Circle
(4) Turn RIGHT onto Duke of Gloucester Street, (fourth street off the circle)
(5) St. Mary's High School is located about 1/2 mile down on the right, at 109 Duke of Gloucester Street in Annapolis. Parking for Lobby Night will be in the parking lot of St. Mary's Church.
