2010 Congressional Candidate Survey
Read the joint letter by Maryland's Bishops urging Maryland's Catholics to vote in recognition of the important contribution that every voice makes on Election Day, especially in cases where the difference between candidates presents a clear moral choice.

Every election year, the Maryland Catholic Conference surveys Maryland candidates for the U.S. Congress, governor and General Assembly about their positions on issues of interest to Catholics. The responses of the congressional candidates are below.
Printable survey response sheets by district are available. Please click on the candidate's last name to open the sheet showing all of the candidates in that district and all of their responses.
Each primary candidate received the survey by mail and by email; non-responding primary candidates received an additional copy of the survey by mail, three more times by email, and were contacted at least once by phone. All general election candidates registered and approved by the Board of Elections by Tuesday, September 28 received an additional copy of the survey by mail or email if they had not yet responded during the primary election.
The candidates were asked to either “Agree” or “Disagree” with each of 12 issue statements (Numbers 1-12). A blank response to a statement means the candidate did not choose a position or that the response was qualified.

The Maryland Catholic Conference does not endorse or oppose any candidate, under any circumstance, and no inference of endorsement or opposition should be concluded as a result of the information provided here.
