Maryland's 2008 primary elections were held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008. Click here to see the 2008 Primary Congressional Candidate Survey conducted by the Maryland Catholic Conference and learn where candidates stand on important issues.

Check back before November 4, 2008, for any updates to the congressional candidate survey.

In the meantime, check out the Faithful Citizenship website from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. It has information on Catholic Social Teaching and its application to public policy matters today and includes resources for families, Catholic schools and religious education programs.

Register to Vote
Places and Ways to Register

* Download a voter registration (English, Spanish), fill it out, sign it, return to the Board of Elections.
* Visit your local Board of Elections
* Request an application from the State Board of Elections by calling 410-269-2840 or toll free at 800-222-8683
* Pick up an application at the Motor Vehicle Administration, the state Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the state Department of Social Services, higher education institutions, or marriage license offices

Requirements to Register

* Be a U.S. citizen;
* Be a Maryland resident;
* Be at least 18 years old by the next general election;
* Not be under guardianship for mental disability;
* Not have been convicted of buying or selling votes;
* Not have been convicted of a felony, or if you have, you have completed serving a
court ordered sentence of imprisonment, including any term of parole or probation
for the conviction.
